Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Meadowbridge Road community in Mechanicsville, VA. The role covers building, grounds, equipment and appliance maintenance under the direction of the Maintenance Director.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience. The job requires physical stamina and a willingness to work weekends and holidays, with benefits including 401k and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in the maintenance/building trade.
• Disassemble and move furniture as needed within the community.
• Check maintenance logs/work orders to ensure prompt response to requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds including landscaping and trash removal.
• Perform basic electrical work, including changing light bulbs.
• Assist with community vehicle maintenance and transporting residents to appointments.
• Assist maintenance director with resident safety drills.
