Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment across a pork processing facility. The role involves preventative maintenance on conveyors, trolley systems, rendering machinery, and hydraulics, with occasional welding and basic electrical work.

Ability to read manuals, document tasks, and complete training modules is required. Candidates should be willing to work 3rd shift, pass training, and communicate effectively with all team levels while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year on-the-job training.
• Experience in at least two of: mechanical/electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting; welding/fabrication; conveyor maintenance; AC/DC control wiring; motor control; PLC troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and assets in a pork processing facility.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production line equipment including conveyors, trolley systems, rendering machinery, and hydraulics.
• Weld, fabricate, and perform basic electrical work as needed; work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read manuals, document work on scheduling sheets, and complete computer-based training modules.
• Collaborate with team members at all levels and ensure safety and Tyson policies.

Job Details

Job Details: This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. These positions work in all departments of this pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance repairing equipment used in production such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, Rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Other duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.

Requirements

• MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 3rd shift.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 Year On-The-Job Training.
• Application and /or resume must show related work experience and/or training in these areas : Must have 1 years’ experience and or education in at least two of the following General Maintenance related areas; Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and Navigation, Welding/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatic systems.
• Must be available to work any department, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
• Must be able to read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet.
• Must be able to successfully complete computer-based training modules and understand training manuals.
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 plus pounds as necessary.
• Must be willing and able to work in confined space and working at heights above normal work area; use of ladders, lifts, and scaffolds; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Candidates hired into this position will be expected to stay on track with their training until he/she reaches level 7.
• The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Location is accepting Rehires, rehire waiting period is 180 days from last termination date with a maximum number of employments of 3.
