The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Alaska Air National Guard (ANG), is recruiting for a Maintenance Generalist-Journey!

This position is in the Labor, Trades, and Crafts (LTC) bargaining unit at a wage grade 54.

What You Will Be Doing:

DMVA is looking for a skilled Maintenance Generalist-Journeyman to join our team in the AK Air National Guard at Eielson Air Force Base. As a Maintenance Generalist-Journey, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance on building systems, individual building sections, and complex whole structures. You will work independently and as part of a team to identify and address maintenance needs, ensuring all repairs and new work meet precise fit, accurate dimensions, and quality appearance standards. This role requires the ability to perform carpentry work independently, meeting precise fit, accurate dimensions, and quality appearance standards. You will work on building systems, individual building sections, and complex whole structures. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction techniques and be able to work both independently and as part of a team to identify and address maintenance needs.

The successful applicants must pass a federal background check in order to qualify for military base access, which is required with this position's work location on base. The background check may include fingerprinting. All job offers are conditional pending successful completion of the federal background check and issuance of a Defense Biometrics Identification System (DBIDS) card allowing base access. Also, you must be able to maintain the clearance throughout your employment. If using a private vehicle this will require a valid Alaska Driver License, proof of vehicle insurance, and a valid State of Alaska vehicle registration.

State employees are guests at Eielson Air Force Base; clearance and access are not within the State's control.

Special Note: In addition, in some cases employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
