Qualifications

• Willing to be respirator qualified.
• Able to lift 50 pounds; climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet; stand for long periods.
• Able to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.
• Able to communicate orally & in writing; withstand extreme hot/cold odors.

Shift D Nights / Hours are: Wednesday: 1 am to 7 am (Thursday morning)Thursday: 7 pm to 7 amFriday: 7 pm to 7 amSaturday: 7 pm to 7 amMaintenance Hourly rotates every 4 weeks.

Functions

• Perform various positions as required/assigned

Description

This position is responsible for general maintenance throughout the plant while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able to use basic hand tools.
• Requires: basic mechanical or maintenance skills, knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing, 1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance, able to read & understand assignments, able to communicate orally & in writing, able to hear/respond to two-way radio, able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, basic knowledge of math, able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.
• May monitor boiler and perform chemical test on boiler.
• May be required to read drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.
• Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.
• Performs duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems.
• Prefer individual be respirator qualified.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Willing to further education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training.

• Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
• Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
