Job summary

Tyson Foods in Springdale, AR seeks a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant equipment following safety policies. You will document actions, handle electrical/mechanical malfunctions, and perform preventive maintenance on schedule.

The role requires working 12-hour shifts in a demanding environment, with strict safety protocols and opportunities to advance within an industry-leading food company.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof of enrollment required) or have 6 months of experience working in an industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from technical college (proof of training with passing grade required) or must have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology.
• Industrial maintenance will be considered work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance listed on the application.
• There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.
• Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
• This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
• Relocation Assistance Eligible: No

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
• Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
• Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
• Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
• Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
• Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
• Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
• The position's physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
• Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.
