Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for the campus, including offices, floors, doors, windows, and furniture, with responsibilities spanning plumbing, heating systems, and appliance upkeep.

The role requires a high school diploma, 18+ years, prior maintenance experience, and Google Suite proficiency. Wages are $18.62–$21.88 per hour, with full-time benefits and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Willingness to receive annual flu vaccine.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain offices, floors, stairways, partitions, doors, windows and furniture items.
• Install, repair and maintain water, sewage, drainage and air systems (urinals, toilets, basins, sinks, drinking fountains, furnaces, boilers, tanks).
• Inspect and service domestic appliances (ranges, refrigerators, washers/dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, disposals, fan coils).
• Review, accept and close out work orders in computer/tablet.
• Assist in grounds keeping and in loading/unloading equipment and supplies.
• Report items needing service or repair; change ceiling tiles; unclog toilets/sinks; change lights/filters; adjust cabinet hardware.

Schedule: Full-time: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; on call rotation and some weekends

What You’ll Do In This Role

• Repair and maintain offices, floors, stairways, partitions, doors, windows and furniture items.
• Perform the installation, repair and maintenance of water, sewage, and drainage and air systems such as urinals, water closets, washbasins, sinks, drinking fountains, heat furnaces, boilers and processing tanks.
• Conduct routine and operational checks related to the maintenance and repair of domestic appliances such as: ranges, refrigerators, laundry washers and dryers, dishwashers, microwave ovens, garbage disposals, and fan coil units.
• Review, accept and close out work orders on the computer or tablet.
• Assist in grounds keeping as assigned. Assists in the loading, transportation and unloading of equipment and supplies.
• Report on items requiring service or repair; Change out ceiling tiles; Hang various items; Unclog toilets, sinks; Change out shower heads; Change and repair cabinet handles & hinges; Change out filters; Change light bulbs.
• Trash runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (pick up trash as you walk around the campus during your rounds
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to dead lift 50 pounds and walk 25 feet.
• Must be able to work in a boiler room on occasions where temperatures in the summer rise to between 105 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be capable of climbing through a drop ceiling and working above the ceiling at heights of 8 to 14 feet above the floor.

Compensation & Benefits
