Job summary

Agropur’s Little Chute plant seeks a Maintenance General to keep the facility running and compliant by using safe repair methods and upkeep. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, install and repair equipment, and work closely with production to minimize downtime while upholding high quality.

The role requires basic electrical skills and mechanical aptitude, with a window to grow and take on broader responsibilities in a dynamic dairy operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Minimum one year of related maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.

Night Shift Premium $1.50/hour

Schedule: 2-2-3 NIGHTS, 6pm - 6am

Two pay increases within a year, up to $1.00

What you'll be responsible for each day

The Maintenance General position is responsible for keeping the plant running and in compliance with all rules/regulations by using safe methods of equipment repair and upkeep.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Install, update and repair equipment.
• Work closely with production to minimize downtime while maintaining high quality.
• Repair or replace valves and pumps (seals, steams, O rings, seats, bearings, etc.) as needed.
• Perform basic electrical wiring (switches, outlets, starter, motor leads, etc.) as needed.
• Perform basic pipe fitting as directed.
• Handle all equipment and chemicals safely.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a good working knowledge of all process areas in the plant.
• Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Safety Protocol Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
• Support safety policies and programs.

Education Required

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required

Minimum one (1) year of related maintenance experience preferred.

Mechanical aptitude required.

Where you'll be working

Our Little Chute, WI, plant is home to about 95 employees. This facility is a top manufacturer of IQF sticks that are supplied to the appetizer industry. Next to the plant is our well-known Simon's Specialty Cheese store, which has about 20 employees. Simon's is a Wisconsin-themed store, with everything from meats and cheese to clothing and craft spirits.
