Silvi Group is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman for the 2nd shift in Belle Mead, NJ near Princeton. The role oversees maintenance of quarry equipment, leads a small crew, and ensures preventative maintenance schedules are followed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of maintenance mechanic experience in quarry equipment or similar.
• Valid driver's license.
• Technical school education in welding, electrical or maintenance preferred.
• Welding experience in MIG, stick and overhead.
• Mining/quarry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals, diagrams and parts manuals.
• Familiarity with OSHA/MSHA safety regulations is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to put in extra hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plan preventive maintenance, plant projects and scheduled shutdowns with the maintenance manager.
• Lead/schedule a crew of 3-4 mechanics for daily plant maintenance.
• Provide parts lists to management to keep progress on projects.
• Perform skilled maintenance on quarry equipment like rock crushers and conveyors.
• Inspect and restore equipment to good operating order.
• Evaluate failures, communicate findings, and suggest improvements.
• Perform daily rounds and document maintenance activities.
• Assist with maintenance of compressors, generators, pumps and hydraulics.
• Lubricate, clean and service equipment; maintain a safe work area.

Title of Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Foreman-2nd Shift

Location: Belle Mead, NJ (Near Princeton, NJ) (2nd Shift- 2:00 pm start time)

Pay Range: $42.21 - $49.28 (this is based on previous or relevant quarry/maintenance mechanic + foreman experience)

Position Essential Functions Responsibilities

• Plans preventative maintenance, plant projects, and scheduled shutdowns with the maintenance manager

• Leads/schedules a crew of 3-4 mechanics for daily plant maintenance

• Responsible for getting parts list to manager to keep progress on all projects/maintenance

• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as but not limited to the rock crusher, conveyor belts, electrical panels and similar equipment.
• Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctions and takes necessary action to restore equipment to good operating order.
• Evaluates equipment failures for root cause, communicates findings, makes suggestions for equipment improvements, and is able to install modifications as directed.
• Performs daily rounds checklist on operating equipment, observing the machine in operation and listening to sounds to detect unusual operation.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures, recording all pertinent information.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, blowers, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and maintenance equipment.
• Lubricating, cleaning, and servicing equipment.
• Keeps the work area clean and safe.
• Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials and supplies.
• Completes work assignments in the allotted time frame.

Qualifications

• At least 5 year’s of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic at a similar position or a position with transferable skills to quarry equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Education from a technical school in a related field preferred (welding, electrical, maintenance etc.)
• Welding experience required, particularly in mig, stick, and overhead.
• Quarry/mining experience a plus but not required.
• Gyratory Crusher experience a plus but not required.
• Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning on different types of motors/machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual.
• Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus but not required.
• Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdown
• Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.
• Ability to work independently.
• Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership to complete assignments/projects through to completion.
• Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
