Job summary

Silvi Materials is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Plant Operator for our Belle Mead, NJ site. The role supports maintenance on quarry equipment, with shifts up to 12 hours based on workload, and a pay range of $26.22–$46.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in quarry or similar setting.
• Valid driver''s license and technical-school education; welding experience preferred.
• Experience with MIG, stick, and overhead welding; hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as rock crusher, conveyors, electrical panels, and similar equipment.
• Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctions; takes action to restore equipment to operating order.
• Evaluates equipment failures for root cause, communicates findings, suggests improvements, and installs modifications as directed.
• Performs daily rounds checklist on operating equipment, observes machines, and detects unusual operation.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules and record pertinent information.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, pumps, gearboxes, mixers, blowers, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Lubricates, cleans, and services equipment; keeps the work area clean and safe.
• Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials and supplies.
• Completes work assignments in the allotted time frame.

So what does a Silvi Materials Industrial Maintenance Mechanic do?

• Performs skilled maintenance on rock quarry equipment such as, but not limited to, the rock crusher, conveyor belts, electrical panels, and similar equipment.

Qualifications Required As a Silvi Materials Mechanic.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a similar position or a position with transferable skills to quarry equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Education from a technical school; years of experience in a related field preferred (welding, electrical, maintenance, etc.)
• Welding experience required, particularly in MIG, stick, and overhead.
• Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctions on different types of motors/machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manuals.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including up to 12-hour+ shifts based on workload. Workload is subject to change based on production.
