Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a Maintenance Technician Floater to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep across locations in Honolulu. You’ll work under the Chief Building Engineer or Account Manager-Engineering, rotating to different properties as needed.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, basic trades skills (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall), and strong safety compliance. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have basic hand tools.
• General preventative maintenance experience including basic plumbing, light electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting, and drywall.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC) and grounds maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service to property managers, vendors, and customers.
• Drive to different locations to provide coverage.
• Lift/push/pull 50–75 lbs and maneuver under varied conditions.
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working and repaired as needed.
• Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
• Perform other maintenance tasks as required by supervisors.

Our company is seeking a qualified individual with industry experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering, theMaintenance Technician Floaterwill be tasked with general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance while floating to different locations. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, previous hands-on maintenance experience, proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, H.V.A.C., carpentry, masonry, painting and drywall, all tasks must be performed in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations.

-Schedule: Varies - Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM (subjective to emergencies: after hours, weekends and holidays)

-Hourly pay rate:$25.00 - $26.00

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and grounds maintenance
• Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
• Drive to different locations to provide coverage
• Able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs. up to 75lbs., walk, bend, stretch during shift
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.

• Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor/property management.

• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs. (up to 75lbs.), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift.
