Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, seeks a Maintenance & Fire Safety Supervisor for Mount Sinai Beth Israel on a swing shift. You will oversee all fire safety departments, implement policies, and coordinate safety programs under the direction of the Unit Director/ Fire Safety Assistant Director.

The role requires shift coverage including late nights; you will manage staffing, training, and compliance with Joint Commission standards and city/state regulations.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred or 2+ years in field.
• Certifications in fire safety and life safety preferred by date of hire.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Supervisory and payroll experience helpful.

Job Summary

SUMMARY:

Oversees all fires safety department areas of responsibility under the direction of the Unit Director/Fire Safety Assistant Director. This is a Swing Shift schedule and may need to cover other shifts and holidays as needed/required. Mon/Tues 12am to 9am; OFF - Wednesday; Thurs/Fri/Sat 4pm to 1am; OFF - Sunday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and implement Fire & Life Safety Policies
• Implement and manage Building Fire Safety Plans
• Perform ILSM assessment and document preparation
• Manage and implement hot works program
• Manage and review above ceiling permits
• Manage fire stopping program
• Manage and implement clear corridor program
• Participate in event walk-throughs to ensure life safety compliance
• Participate in Environment of Care rounds and required follow-up for corrective work
• Manage and review lab inspections and required follow-up for corrective work
• Maintain all documentation of programs of responsibility Fire Marshal staff to include, but not limited to (if applicable):
• Shift staffing level and weekly payroll submissions
• Manage and implement fire drill program
• Manage and implement in-service training program
• Manage and implement preventive maintenance programs, PM’s and BMP’s
• Manage and review all Fire Marshal daily reports and Occurrence reports
• Maintain all documentation of programs of responsibility
• Perform necessary audits to ensure full compliance with joint commission standards and all governing agencies
• Perform all Manager responsibilities as requested by the Director/Assistant Director of Fire Safety

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

State issued High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in field preferred.
