20bloc Inc. seeks a Maintenance & Equipment Technician to support manufacturing, QC analytical, and R&D equipment in a GMP biopharmaceutical environment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with vendors, and assist with calibration, commissioning, and startup activities, while ensuring documentation meets GMP standards. This is a hands-on, on-site role in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience maintaining equipment in pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
• Experience troubleshooting pumps, sensors, valves, motors, and instrumentation.
• Ability to read P&IDs, manuals and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with GMP documentation practices and work orders.

We are seeking a Maintenance & Equipment Technician to support manufacturing equipment, QC analytical and R&D equipment, utilities, and facility systems in a GMP biopharmaceutical environment. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment support activities to ensure reliable facility and manufacturing operations. This role requires a hands-on individual capable of diagnosing technical issues, coordinating repairs, supporting vendors and contractors, and maintaining equipment in a state of operational readiness.

You will provide hands-on support for manufacturing equipment, laboratory equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure reliable GMP manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment and systems used in clinical manufacturing while supporting equipment uptime, facility readiness, and operational efficiency.

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, diagnose equipment issues, coordinate repairs with vendors and contractors, and support equipment installations and upgrades. This position will also assist with calibration, commissioning, qualification, and equipment startup activities while ensuring maintenance activities are properly documented and performed in accordance with GMP, safety, and company requirements.

Day to day responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, QC analytical and R&D equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process-related equipment issues.
• Support operation and maintenance of utilities, including HVAC, compressed gases, purified water systems, process waste systems, and other facility infrastructure
• Diagnose equipment failures, perform repairs where appropriate, and coordinate vendor support for specialized manufacturing equipment, QC analytical and R&D equipment, and utility systems
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance activities, calibration activities, and service visits with equipment vendors, contractors, and service providers
• Escort and oversee contractors performing work within GMP and controlled areas.
• Review completed maintenance activities and verify equipment is returned to service in accordance with applicable procedures
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification activities
• Create and maintain maintenance records, logbooks, work orders, and supporting documentation
• Support spare parts inventory management and procurement activities
• Assist with facility shutdowns, equipment moves, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with GMP, safety, and company requirements

Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience maintaining equipment in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
• Experience troubleshooting pumps, valves, sensors, instrumentation, motors, pneumatic systems, and process equipment
• Experience supporting facility utility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, purified water, or clean utility systems preferred
• Ability to read P&IDs, equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
• Familiarity with GMP documentation practices, work orders, maintenance records, logbooks, and equipment documentation preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Experience working within GMP environments preferred
• Ability to lift equipment, use hand tools, and perform maintenance activities in manufacturing and utility areas

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Thousand Oaks, California, and requires working on-site Monday through Friday. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. We are not sponsoring employment visas.

Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $28-38 per hour. This range is an estimate, and the actual pay may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
