Job summary

OSG is seeking a maintenance professional for on-site support in Mount Airy, NC. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical upkeep of production equipment, preventative maintenance, and quick issue resolution to minimize downtime.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED with 1–2 years post-high school training in maintenance or 2–3 years related experience, able to work with minimal supervision and follow supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Observe machinery in operation and locate causes of trouble.
• Set up, test, and run machines as needed within the Operations Department.
• Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement.
• Inspect machine parts for imperfections and adjust components as required.
• Maintain maintenance records and collaborate with vendor technicians to resolve issues.

OSG operates Canon, Xerox, and Ricoh printing devices, BlueCrest and Bell and Howell inserting technology, as well as BlueCrest and NPI sorters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Ability to functionally operate equipment within the Operations Department (i.e., set up, test, and run machines) on an as needed basis.
• Performs preventative maintenance of machines by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as required.
• Examines form and texture of machine parts to detect imperfections.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision and follow instructions of supervisor.
• Starts equipment to test performance.
• Performs housekeeping duties as needed to keep the work area clean and clear of debris.
• Maintain records of Preventative Maintenance, issue resolution and parts usage
• Work in conjunction with On – Site & vendor technicians to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and setup issues.
• Abides by the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
