Job summary

Allegion is hiring a Maintenance Engineering Technician in Greenfield, IN. You will support troubleshooting and repair of major technical issues, and help optimize machining, assembly, and packaging processes.

The role requires strong CNC/PLC/robotics experience, teamwork, and the ability to read engineering documents. Training and safety compliance are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in science or engineering gained via technical schooling or college.
  • Background in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong CNC, PLC, robotics, automation and controls experience.
  • Solid written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Maintenance with troubleshooting and repair of major technical issues.
  • Apply analytical and technical skills to optimize processes in machining, assembly, pack and freight.
  • Program, install, commission, troubleshoot, repair and service robotic systems, CNC systems, and peripheral equipment according to SOPs.
  • Assist Engineers with designing, running, testing and upgrading production processes.
  • Assist with new equipment installations, including programming of machines where needed.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining process documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility and provide feedback to management.
  • Manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, quality, materials, purchasing, and accounting.
  • Attend training opportunities deemed necessary by management; follow safety procedures.

A background in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.* Strong CNC, PLC, robotics, automation, and controls experience.* Strong critical thinking skills including using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and in independent situations, while maintaining strong work relationships* Solid written and verbal communication as well as conflict resolution skills* Organized and attentive to detail* Desire to work hands on with projects and equipment* Ability to assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency* Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques* Ability to read, interpret, and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, printed shop schedules, Kanban cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.**Preferred Skills:*** Proficient in MS Office Suite (excel, project, word, power point)* Knowledge/Experience with Keyence, Yaskawa, ABB, Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Murata, or Hurco.* Knowledge of Preventative maintenance programs and basic industrial networking concepts.## **We Celebrate Who We Are!**Allegion is committed to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace.
