Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed seeks a Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering functions for a gypsum wallboard and plaster plant. You will guide the team to maximize asset availability and reliability in alignment with safety and environmental standards.

You will drive a world-class maintenance program, manage capital projects with vendors and contractors, and promote continuous improvement across production, mechanical, electrical, and engineering groups to deliver

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience.
5-10 years' experience in maintenance in a professional/management role.
Knowledge of the gypsum manufacturing process and related equipment is an asset.
Strong experience with developing a sustainable World Class Maintenance System (inspection, predictive and preventive maintenance, planning, execution, Root Cause Failure Analysis and improvements)
Experience in capital project management, including handling vendors and contractors and installation commissioning.
Extensive experience in manufacturing equipment repair.
Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing a Maintenance Department.
Proven ability to be an outstanding coach and leader, with succession planning and employee development skills.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance and engineering functions for a gypsum wallboard and plaster manufacturing plant.
Oversee plant engineering activities including capital expenditures, designs and construction projects.
Ensure safety performance and asset reliability to meet production needs.
Promote continuous improvement and teamwork among production, mechanical, electrical, and engineering staff.

Job description

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Consistent with the Corporate Objectives, World Class manufacturing principles and within a high-performance team environment, the Maintenance & Engineering Manager provides leadership to effectively manage maintenance and engineering functions of a gypsum wallboard and plaster manufacturing plant.

Will guide maintenance and be responsible for the physical plant including buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment, in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and fire prevention standards.
Manage plant engineering activities to include possible capital expenditures, designs, cost estimations, capital requests, and selection/construction projects.
Ensure world class safety performance, to ensure the economic viability of all plant assets, and to maximize the availability and reliability of the equipment to meet production requirements.
The incumbent will take an active role in promoting continuous improvement programs and teamwork between the production, mechanical, electrical, and engineering personnel.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position, which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
