Maintenance Engineer PSV (Local 95 Union)

This role works under the Local 95 Union.

Shift

Typically, M-F daylight hours.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, troubleshoot, test, and repair the hospital’s steam plant, steam distribution system, HVAC systems, chiller plant, chilled water distribution, heating hot water systems, pneumatic tube transport, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Respond to maintenance issues during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Investigate, schedule, and plan service outages, including emergencies, ensuring safety and operational continuity.
  • Maintain and operate high-pressure steam systems, hot water boilers, pneumatic tube systems, medical air and vacuum systems, refrigeration equipment, and building management systems.
  • Monitor and treat chemical systems, manage medical gas inventory, and maintain infection control protocols.
  • Record work orders and report daily to supervisors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of trade school or 3 years’ experience as a stationary engineer or HVAC mechanic.
  • Knowledge of building management systems (preferred).
  • Healthcare experience (preferred).
Licensure and Certifications
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
  • City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer License and EPA Universal Refrigerant License preferred.
