Job summary

Workstream is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily production operations with focus on maintenance and safety at our Northbrook, IL plant.

Responsibilities include maintaining industrial furnaces, managing safety programs, and designing new equipment, with potential for broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience in manufacturing.
• Maintenance experience and mechanical knowledge required.
• Furnace controls experience preferred.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.
• Military candidates encouraged to apply.
• Experience with PLCs and electrical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operations to produce cost-effective, timely, high-quality products.
• Manage and perform plant maintenance and safety programs; maintain industrial furnaces and supporting machines.
• Design and help install new equipment as needed.
• Monitor operations for efficiency and safety and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Operate with four furnaces on site and other assembly machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Engineer- Plant Maintenance

Northbrook, IL

We are currently searching for a full-time Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily production operations focusing on maintenance and safety. Opportunity to expand into other areas of responsibility if qualified.

Schedule:

• The plant is a 24 hour/day operation x 6 days/week
• 8-hour shift
• 12pm-8pm; exact schedule can be negotiated
• Weekends as needed

Qualifications:

• Associates degree from college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum five (5) years of related experience in manufacturing
• Maintenance experience and mechanical knowledge is required
• Experience with furnace controls is preferred
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)
• Experienced Military candidates are encouraged to apply
• Experience with PLC’s and electrical systems is a plus!

Responsibilities:

• Supports all aspects of maintaining operations for the plant to produce cost-effective, timely and high-quality products
• Manage and perform plant maintenance and safety programs. Primary responsibility is to maintain industrial electric furnaces and supporting machines
• Design and help install new equipment as needed
• Monitor operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed
• Plant utilizes equipment designed in-house. Four furnaces on site as well as various machines for assembly of steel components
• Perform all other duties assigned
