Job summary

Delano Miami Beach is seeking a Maintenance Engineer I to support daily maintenance and operational integrity across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces, delivering prompt service in a luxury setting.

Under guidance, you will perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting, install lighting, inspect equipment, and ensure safety, reliability, and high guest satisfaction in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, painting, HVAC and repairs.
• Ability to read manuals/blueprints and diagnose equipment issues.
• Strong communication and coordination with supervisors and vendors.
• Willingness to work in a hospitality environment and respond quickly to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance in guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical wiring.
• Inspect machinery, diagnose issues by listening and observing, prevent breakdowns.
• Repair/replace defective parts to restore full functionality promptly.
• Assist in delivery and installation of new equipment such as TVs and furniture.
• Maintain hotel structure (walls, floors, doors, windows) for safety and quality.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment to support operations.
• Document maintenance activities in logs and respond to maintenance requests.
