Job summary

Bardessono is seeking a skilled Hotel Engineer to efficiently operate central HVAC equipment and other mechanical systems in our Tyler, TX facility.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic issues, and maintain kitchen, laundry, refrigeration, boilers, and plumbing systems, ensuring safe operations in a hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Hotel engineering experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship; state certification or licensure where required.
• Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.

Responsibilities

Requirements

What we are looking for

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required
• Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Physical Requirements (In-Office Role)
• Ability to work in a standard office environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
