Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an energetic, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will oversee hotel grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, performing preventative maintenance and timely responses to work orders.

The role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry, with 2–3 years in hotel maintenance preferred. We offer Daily Pay, comprehensive benefits, 401k, PTO, and more to support growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to three years in hotel maintenance (preferred).
• One year of college or trade school in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry.
• Basic math skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Checks fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintains spare parts and bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
• Fulfills work orders promptly and completes daily rounds, reporting issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms


• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations


• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs


• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner


• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner


• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems


• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred


• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines


• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills


• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing


• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
