Job Description

As a Maintenance Engineer Class 2 at Omni Dallas Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and pristine condition of the hotel's facilities and surrounding environment. This position involves the maintenance, repair, and operation of various hotel systems and equipment to provide a comfortable and safe experience for our guests and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine Preventative Maintenance (PM) for hotel equipment and systems, ensuring operational efficiency and longevity.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot low-pressure boilers that supply hot water throughout the property.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure climate control and comfort across the hotel.
  • Operate and maintain additional vessels required for hot water, kitchen steam, and air conditioning systems.
  • Assist mechanics and external contractors in diagnosing and repairing hotel property, equipment, and systems.
  • Maintain and repair commercial kitchen and laundry equipment, ensuring smooth daily operations in these high-demand areas.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of swimming pool and associated pool equipment, ensuring a safe and inviting environment for guests.
  • Complete assigned work orders and daily tasks efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Respond to work orders and house call requests via radio, ensuring prompt action on all maintenance needs.
  • Be well-versed in emergency protocols, including the hotel’s fire alarm procedures and safety protocols for other emergencies.
  • Understand and adhere to Omni Hotel’s operational procedures, rules, and regulations, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for guests and staff.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of OSHA standards and regulations to promote a safe workplace.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in general maintenance, ideally in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Expertise in HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance.
  • At least one year of experience with commercial kitchen and laundry equipment. Knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems is a plus.
  • Proven experience responding effectively to emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Strong communication skills, with attention to detail, time management, and the ability to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Proficient in using computers and managing digital work orders and systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, kneel, reach overhead, and perform other physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to respond promptly to maintenance calls and emergencies.
