Ryan Companies Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for its Chicago downtown properties. The role includes preventive maintenance, coordinating with subcontractors, and responding to tenant work orders.

This first-shift position runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as needed. You will work with the property manager and chief engineer to ensure high-quality building services, maintain mechanical and utility rooms, monitor energy systems, and document all

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; two-year technical degree or equivalent.
• Hold regional or local licensing/certifications to operate a building.
• On-call, after-hours and weekend rotation required.
• Strong communication and computer skills; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs and work outside in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment and fixtures.
• Manage and/or assist subcontractors with maintenance and projects.
• Respond to tenant service work orders promptly and professionally.
• Work with the property manager and chief engineer on services and tenant improvements.
• Maintain mechanical rooms and monitor energy systems; document actions daily.
• Participate in on-call, after-hours and weekend rotations.
• Complete required safety trainings and deliver excellent customer service.
