Job summary

Four Winds Casino New Buffalo is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, preventive and corrective tasks, and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and equipment issues. The role supports department projects, cosmetic repairs, and general facilities upkeep in a casino environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work, and preferred EPA licenses or Pool Operator certification.

  • Maintain pool facilities (if applicable) as assigned and assist in all areas of facilities maintenance.
  • Prepare daily work forms and adhere to safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Operate with a problem-solving mindset and document maintenance activities.

Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing routine maintenance. Completes basic preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoots minor equipment maintenance problems involving electrical, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. Assists on projects assigned to the department, administrates cosmetic repairs to the facility finishes, and assists in all areas of facilities maintenance as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

Works under the close direction of senior personnel to assists on projects assigned to the department, including but not limited to cosmetic repairs to the facility finishes, assists in all areas of facilities maintenance including but not limited to:

  • Routine inspections of all lighting throughout the property, identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Responds to maintenance requests and in-house calls in the designated time frame.
  • Maintains pool facilities (if they exist at the property) as assigned.
  • Works independently and advises supervisor of additional assistance needed.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area in the engineering shop.
  • Prepares daily work forms.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) preferred. Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and air conditioning maintenance.

EPA I & II or Universal license, Certified Pool Operator preferred

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

Applicant must successfully complete a physical abilities test for essential functions of this job, including a color blindness test to distinguish color.

This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
