Job Title

Maintenance Engineer

Compensation: $30 – $40/hour

Reports to: Property Manager or Chief Engineer

Property Overview

This two-building, 270,000 sq ft office campus in Media, PA has recently undergone a full-scale redevelopment to create a modern and collaborative work environment. The property features twin four-story and six-story atriums, newly renovated lobbies and corridors, a tenant fitness center, grab-and-go market, outdoor patio, and conference facilities. These enhancements have positioned the campus as a premier office destination in a highly competitive suburban Philadelphia market.

Job Summary

The Building Engineer is responsible for the reliable operation and maintenance of the property’s critical building systems, ensuring tenant comfort, safety, and satisfaction. This role requires both technical expertise and hands-on execution, with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality building services.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily building operations and maintenance across the campus, ensuring all systems operate efficiently.
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, chilled water, emergency backup systems, electrical systems, and hot water systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on critical systems and equipment with minimal tenant disruption.
  • Conduct plumbing, piping, electrical, and mechanical repairs as needed, including pumps, motors, compressors, valves, and controls.
  • Support tenant improvements and construction projects while maintaining system performance.
  • Perform general building maintenance tasks such as lighting replacement, painting, and basic repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with management and tenants on project status and system operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial building maintenance or engineering experience.
  • Strong HVAC knowledge; certification strongly preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license; Black Seal license may be required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting, and carrying equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to prioritize effectively in both routine and urgent situations.
Interview Process
