Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah is seeking Maintenance Engineers at multiple experience levels to help keep a vibrant hotel running smoothly. You will troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure the property operates to the highest standards while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

This on-site role requires dependable, hands-on individuals with pride in safety, functionality, and presentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or resort maintenance or similar setting.
• Trade school coursework or certification preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, pools, or commercial equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple requests in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with other departments.
• Willingness to learn new systems and develop additional technical skills.
• Pride in maintaining high standards of safety, functionality, and presentation.

Responsabilités

• Support inspections, testing, and readiness of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot and complete repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical fixtures, furniture, pool and spa equipment, kitchen equipment, and other building systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and departmental maintenance requests.
• Identify maintenance issues proactively and help prevent larger operational problems.
• Complete work in accordance with applicable safety standards and local, state, and federal codes.
• Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and completed repairs.
• Partner with hotel departments to support a safe, functional, and well‑maintained environment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, mechanical areas, and workspaces in clean and organized condition.

About The Role

Recess Hotel & Club is seeking Maintenance Engineers at multiple experience levels to help maintain and support a dynamic hotel environment. We are looking for dependable, hands-on individuals who take pride in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the property operates at its highest standards while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

This is a unique opportunity to learn the property from the ground up and play an important role in establishing high standards for maintenance and operations. Whether you are an experienced engineer or looking to grow your career in facilities and maintenance, we are seeking dependable, hands‑on individuals who take pride in solving problems, maintaining systems, and ensuring a safe, well‑functioning environment for guests and team members alike.

This is an on‑site position in Savannah, GA. Candidates without hotel maintenance or equivalent experience will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Support inspections, testing, and readiness of hotel facilities and equipment

• Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, construction, or skilled‑trades experience in a hotel or resort setting
• Technical or trade school coursework or certification is preferred but not required
• Working knowledge of one or more areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, pools, or commercial equipment is highly valued
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple requests in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with other departments
• Willingness to learn new systems and develop additional technical skills
• Pride in maintaining high standards of safety, functionality, and presentation

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move banquet equipment as needed.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on business demands.
