Schulte Hospitality Group in Richmond, VA is seeking an energetic General Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This hands-on role covers building systems, preventive maintenance, and responsive work orders across hotel facilities.

You will oversee grounds and guest rooms, perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry, and ensure safety and code compliance. A background in hotel maintenance and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• One year of college or trade school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry
• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members

Responsabilités

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

• Building Systems: Handle basic plumbing (leaks, fixtures, drains), electrical (outlets, light fixtures, switches), carpentry (doors, drywall, trim), and painting.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections on HVAC units, safety equipment, and mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Work Orders: Diagnose issues, plan repairs using manuals or blueprints, and log completed work.
• Safety & Code Compliance: Follow OSHA policies, monitor emergency systems, and maintain a safe workspace.
