Maintenance Engineer – Vopak

Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance organization through CMMS system oversight, drawing updates, redlines, and global mechanical integrity system support.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor and technical manager to deliver KPIs that drive continuous improvement.
  • Review maintenance data, enact combined effort plans, and improve regulatory compliance, safety compliance, and overall work order completion.
  • Analyze key maintenance performance KPIs such as work order close‑out and time‑to‑repair, identify trends, and develop action plans.
  • Apply industry standards to improve equipment and organizational performance and become fluent in Vopak Standards.
  • Set preventive maintenance (PM) frequency and review inspection reports to develop repair plans and improvements.
  • Participate in assessment team meetings for mechanical integrity of critical assets and ensure assets are managed per the global mechanical integrity system.
  • Conduct and maintain equipment criticality assessments to prioritize and address critical equipment.
  • Assist the maintenance supervisor in root‑cause analysis on problematic equipment, develop low‑cost solutions, and implement changes for long‑term reliability.
  • Inform the Sustaining Capex Program with findings and work with vendors and third parties to improve equipment and service.
  • Serve as the super‑user for the computerized maintenance system and manage product movement to meet Vopak and customer standards.
  • Act as the Management of Change system owner, ensuring correct documentation and procedures are followed.
  • Update or manage updates of drawings for integration into the database.
  • Perform all tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering field, or 15+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ year of experience with a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo, Infor, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial related field.
  • Self‑starter who delivers improvements to the maintenance organization.
  • Solutions‑driven, keeping operational standards and customer satisfaction in focus.
  • Highly collaborative within direct and indirect teams.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills and the ability to identify process improvements that reduce waste and enhance service delivery.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong active listening.
