Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Palm Springs, CA. This part-time role supports hotel maintenance, grounds, public areas and guest rooms with hands-on preventative upkeep.

Qualifications

• HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry knowledge.
• 2+ years in hotel maintenance preferred.
• Trade school or college equivalent in mechanical/electrical/technical disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Checks fixtures, lighting, and signs; maintains spare parts inventory.
• Responds to maintenance orders promptly and fulfills work orders.
• Performs daily rounds and reports issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
