Job summary

Norit Americas, Inc. in Pryor, Oklahoma is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure asset integrity and reliability of our plant.

This senior role supports maintenance strategies, leads reliability improvement initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance safety and operational efficiency. You will develop inspection plans, design preventive tasks for rotating and static equipment, lead audits, and participate in capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing facility experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of process safety management, root cause analysis, and failure analysis techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance, reliability, asset integrity, and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to present technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop inspection and maintenance plans for static equipment, targeting damage mechanisms based on criticality.
  • Design preventive maintenance tasks for rotating equipment, targeting failure modes based on criticality.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to solve complex operating and reliability challenges.
  • Offer guidance to less-experienced engineers and maintenance team members.
  • Use root cause analysis and failure analysis techniques to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with Millwrights and Maintenance Technicians on findings from analyses and monitoring activities.
  • Lead annual audits focused on maintenance optimization and asset integrity improvements.
  • Identify capital needs related to asset integrity and support long-term planning.
  • Maintain understanding of history and current condition of static equipment.
  • Develop best practices to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
  • Coordinate and participate in inspections of static equipment.
  • Lead responses to leaks, failures, and asset integrity issues related to static equipment.
  • Lead or participate in scoping and implementation of capital projects.
  • Participate in turnaround scope reviews and criticality assessments of unexpected findings.
  • Communicate with insurance partners regarding asset integrity and maintenance needs.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Participate in the development of best practices to ensure asset integrity and reliability,

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred,
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, process and product technology, and chemical manufacturing environments,
  • Solid understanding of process safety management, root cause analysis, and failure analysis techniques,
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance, reliability, asset integrity, and mechanical engineering principles,
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather data, analyze findings, and draw well‑reasoned conclusions,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly,
  • Proven ability to influence actions, mindsets, and decisions across different teams and levels of the organization,
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and collaboration skills,
  • Highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities,
  • Ability to manage and implement change initiatives and lead engineering or maintenance‑related projects.
