Job summary

Cytiva, a Danaher operating company in Muskegon, Michigan, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to set up and run predictive and preventative maintenance systems for our site. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is an on‑site position.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical/electrical/software issues, developing maintenance plans, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinating with contractors and vendors to keep equipment uptime world class.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Certifications in maintenance or related fields (e.g., CMMS, OSHA) preferred.
• Experience with maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The maintenance engineer is responsible for setting up and running predictive and preventative maintenance systems for out site. The maintenance engineer will participate in all aspects of maintenance to ensure consistent uptime and world class reliability.

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is part of the maintenance department located in Muskegon, Michigan and will be an on‑site role

What you will do:

• Diagnose and lead repair efforts for mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans, monitor equipment performance, and lead improvement projects
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Develop and update spare parts inventory and procurement strategies
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Certifications in maintenance or related fields (e.g., Configuration and Maintenance Management (CMMS), Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)) preferred.
• Experience with maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel within the US and internationally, up to 10% of the time
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and navigate around equipment in a chemical manufacturing facility

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Vibration analysis and tribology
• Operating in facilities that operate under OSHA PSM
• FDA or other regulated industries
