Job summary

Adams and Associates, Inc. seeks a skilled maintenance supervisor to oversee preventative maintenance, repairs and safety compliance for the Center facilities and systems.

This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with supervision of maintenance staff in the absence of the Facility Manager. You will coordinate work with contractors, mentor student workers, ensure building codes are followed, and plan maintenance activities to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in building maintenance with knowledge of local building codes, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, boilers.
  • Preferred: Associate of Arts Degree and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follows integrity guidelines and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • Performs repair and preventive maintenance to facility, grounds and systems.
  • Inspects the work of other maintenance personnel.
  • Oversees training activities of students in maintenance area.
  • Oversees activities of outside contractors performing repairs or replacement of equipment.
  • Coordinates with program staff and ensures safety and code compliance.
  • Produces quality work in a thorough, timely manner.
  • Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet goals and deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of Center facility, grounds and systems.SCHEDULEMonday to Friday - Day shift 8a 5pMANAGEMENT & SUPERVISIONSupervises maintenance staff in the absence of the Facility Manager/Supervisor. May providesupervision and training to Job Corps Work-Based Learning students and leisure time studentworkers.RESPONSIBILITIESo Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.o Performs repair and preventive maintenance to the facility, grounds and systems.o Inspects the work of other maintenance personnel.o Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/orpushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.o Researches and recommends purchase of replacement equipment as needed.o May be asked to oversee the training activities of students assigned to the maintenance area.o May be asked to oversee the activities and quality of performance of outside contractorsperforming repairs and/or replacement of equipment.o Conducts periodic inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure working quality.o May coordinate activities with the CTT program, if applicable.o Conducts inspections and maintains code and safety requirements.o Provides supervision and training to Job Corps Work-Based Learning, leisure time studentworkers assigned to the Maintenance Department and CTST students.o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions andbehavior.o Provides quality services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needsare met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of requisite services.o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner andcontributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Providesquality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluatesappropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensureprompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision andservices are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Executive Center Director/Center DutyOfficer/Center Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform jobresponsibilities of other departments and positions.o Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited schoolpreferred. Minimum 5 years experience in building maintenance required with knowledge of localbuilding codes, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, heating, air conditioning and ventilationsystems, boilers and other building systems. Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurability requirements. (No Driving Suspensions in the past 5 yeas)Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
