Job summary

Skaneateles Fields Resort & Spa in the Finger Lakes region of New York is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to uphold safety, functionality, and luxury across HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role is essential to ensure guest comfort and brand standards.

You will perform inspections, respond to requests, and coordinate with other departments to address maintenance needs while maintaining the property’s pristine condition and luxury presentation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Technician, or similar role in hospitality or luxury setting.
• Solid knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Commitment to delivering a safe, seamless, and luxurious experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs across all hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure guest satisfaction and minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain the hotel’s facilities, grounds (snow removal), guestrooms, and public spaces to ensure safety, efficiency, and luxury-level presentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with a focus on quality and timeliness.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to anticipate and address maintenance needs.
