Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for the Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca. The role oversees property grounds, guestrooms and public areas, performs preventative maintenance, checks fixtures, responds to work orders, and completes daily rounds.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years hotel maintenance experience, knowledge of HVAC/electrical/plumbing, ability to lift 50 pounds, and strong communication. Benefits include Daily Pay, health and life insurance options, 401k, PTO, and EAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two/three years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• One year of college or trade school in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

Responsibilities

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain spare parts and bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms

• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely mannerCompleted daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
