Job summary

Golden Acorn Casino & Travel Center is seeking a general maintenance technician to perform upkeep and repair tasks in accordance with approved guidelines and supervision. You will clean, inspect, maintain, and repair designated areas, and communicate deficiencies to management while ensuring safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of maintenance or mechanical experience, reads blueprints, and possesses strong organizational and interpersonal

  • Minimum of one year experience in mechanics and ability to read blueprints.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning).
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
  • Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Cooperate with staff and operate company vehicles as required.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety policies.

SUMMARY:

Perform all general maintenance and repair functions within approved guidelines and as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Operates company vehicles as required
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma GED required and at least one year of work experience preferred.

Minimum of one year experience in mechanics and must be able to read blueprints.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor or mechanical rooms, the noise level increases to loud.
