We are excited to welcome a Maintenance Lead to our 3rd-shift team!

Overview

The Maintenance Lead works with Mechanical and Electrical systems on production equipment and assists maintenance teams. This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical installations, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, with additional duties to assist the Department Supervisor. It provides basic oversight and assistance for the assigned department and employees during times when the supervisor is unavailable and/or during off-shift times.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and maintain daily Maintenance PM/planned work schedules with the department supervisor; ensure all materials are available to meet daily production needs.
  • Provide basic direction and feedback to the assigned department employees.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor when problems cannot be resolved, rule violations are found, or equipment concerns arise. Call the supervisor if a problem cannot be resolved.
  • Assist Maintenance personnel and Purchasing staff in identifying parts needed to complete repairs. Order needed parts/supplies to minimize downtime impact. Assist in maintaining proper inventory of spare parts.
  • Monitor work production, ensuring materials and finished goods meet quality standards.
  • Provide technical support for Maintenance staff to resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Ensure safety of the work area; ensure employees follow proper safety procedures, including forklift driving and machine operation. Conduct safety meetings regularly; keep work areas clean and organized during and after shifts.
  • Act as liaison between Maintenance, Sales, Production, and Shipping.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Associate's Degree in Electro-mechanics or similar, or Apprenticeship in Electromechanical Maintenance, or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and machine shop tools.
  • Ability to read, modify, and create electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience installing and modifying Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), troubleshooting and programming PLCs (e.g., Allen Bradley), and sequential devices.
  • Experience with conduit installation, relays, terminations, controls wiring, and motor controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of AC and DC motor drive controls.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, amp-meters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test tools.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to coordinate personnel and equipment to meet production goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
