Job summary

Nucor’s Technical Academy in Alabama offers a two-year training program designed to take a high school graduate to a licensed maintenance electrician through classroom and hands-on learning. Selected candidates relocate to Tuscaloosa, complete coursework online, and begin in-summer on-site training, progressing through five semesters with opportunities to return to sponsoring divisions between terms.

Current high school transcript (2.75 GPA preferred).
ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores: candidate must provide before interview.
One-page essay explaining how your work history, activities, or other interests make you a good candidate for this training program. Include your career or educational goals.

Interested candidates must also complete a separate application to Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Responsibilities

Hands-on assignments with experienced Nucor Maintenance Team Members.
Provide classroom instruction and hands-on training to prepare you as a Maintenance Electrician.
