Job summary

Remington1816 is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to support manufacturing and facilities by fabricating, installing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic systems. The role includes shift work across four schedules in Lonoke, AR, with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate holds an Arkansas electrical license or equivalent, 5 years of industrial electrician experience, and 2-year electronics training or extensive field experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or recognized equivalent.
  • 2-year degree in electronics or closely related field and 2 years verifiable experience OR 4 years verifiable experience in electronics field with similar duties.
  • Must have a current electrical license issued by the State (Arkansas Electrical Examiners) or equivalent from another state and 5 years recent work as Industrial Electrician.
  • Ability to install and program/troubleshoot electronic controllers or be trained to do so.
  • Must pass a written comprehension test and electrical/electronic aptitude evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, modify and repair electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and testing of plant equipment and distribution equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, sketches, models and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain process documentation and keep a clean, orderly work area.

Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician supports manufacturing and facilities personnel by using skills and abilities to fabricate, install, modify, troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of electrical and electronic items and components. Performs inspections and preventative maintenance as required in a timely manner and performs economically feasible repairs to the greatest extent possible with stocked or purchased parts and available tools.

Pay Range:

Hourly Rate: $29.33 - $32.74

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.

Shift Information - 4 Different Shifts:

  • Dayshift (4 shift days): 4:30 AM to 4:45 PM
  • Nightshift (4 shift nights): 4:30 PM to 4:45 AM
  • Mon-Fri: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Mon-Fri 2:45 PM to 1:00 AM

The Maintenance Electrician:

  • Works in a safe and orderly manner at all times. Obeys plant, department and area rules and regulations and proactively encourages other team members to do so.
  • Obtains, maintains and wears or uses all necessary safety equipment as directed by work instructions or area supervisor.
  • Attends shift, department and plant meetings in a timely manner as directed by supervisor.
  • Fabricates, installs, troubleshoots, modifies and repairs systems, equipment & components including, but not limited to, electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical devices to the component level if economically feasible.
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections and testing of various plant equipment, electronic instrumentation and electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Works from blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, sketches, models and verbal instructions.
  • Maintains process integrity with proper documentation and observance of process records
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times.

Educational Skills and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:
  • 2 year degree in electronics or closely related field AND 2 years verifiable experience OR 4 years of verifiable experience in the electronics field with similar duties and responsibilities AND
  • Must have a current electrical license issued by the State of Arkansas Electrical Examiners (Journeyman, Master or Industrial Electrician) or an equivalent license from another state AND 5 years recent work experience as an Industrial Electrician
  • Ability to install and, with the aid of a portable computer or specialized microprocessor, program and troubleshoot electronic controllers or have the ability to be trained to do so
  • Must satisfactorily pass a written comprehension test and electrical/electronic aptitude evaluation.

*Must own and maintain a complimentary set of hand tools sufficient to perform all duties presently required and must be willing to obtain replacement/additional hand tools as required. Employer will supply and maintain any required tooling deemed as ‘special’ or of extremely limited use.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; extreme heat; explosives and vibration. Eye protection in the form of approved safety glasses with side shields or approved safety goggles is required. Approved steel-toe safety shoes are required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be worn in the work area.

Physical Demands

  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with normal color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 25 lbs. unaided
  • Ability to stand or sit for up to 3 hours at a time
  • Ability to frequently kneel, crouch, bend or extend reach as required to perform tasks
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
  • Ability to grasp and feel small parts

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
