Job summary

Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is seeking an experienced electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems throughout the park. The role focuses on lighting, power circuits, controls, motors, pumps, and related equipment across all voltage levels.

The ideal candidate will have electrician journeyman experience or licensure, with ten or more years of experience in electrical systems preferred. Ability to work evenings/weekends and lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Electrician journeyman experience preferred or licensure.
• Ten or more years of experience with electrical systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, maintains and modifies all lighting and power circuits, fixtures, controls, motors, pumps, and equipment that is operated from all voltage levels.
• Performs electrical inspections for preventative maintenance.
• Determines type and size of wire circuits, fixtures, and boxes, and proper voltage and overload protection necessary.
• Lubricates and maintains electrical motors, switch gear and related equipment.
• Maintains phone system, fire alarm systems, fiber optics and security systems.
