Starting Wage: $25-$35/hour

Job Summary: The Maintenance Electrician installs and repairs electrical systems and components on industrial machinery and in factory settings. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and control issues related to manufacturing and facility operations. Follows established procedures but uses judgment to resolve issues or suggest solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical, Associate's Degree or certificate in a maintenance-related field
  • 6+ years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical maintenance
  • Preferred experience with equipment and automation in metal fabrication, paint, and assembly operations
  • Ability to train apprentices

Additional Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills with mechanical aptitude; ability to understand complex issues and work systematically towards resolution
  • Knowledge of PLC hardware and programming; ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment
  • Ability to read drawings, sketches, and blueprints
  • Intermediate PC skills
  • Ability to interpret schematics and machine specifications
  • Certifications for operating service equipment
  • Training capability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude and systematic problem-solving skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn principles and practices in the discipline
  • Perform maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds safely and proficiently
  • Suggest and implement improvements for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical components and wiring diagrams
  • Test electrical systems and circuits
  • Support project managers and engineers
  • Communicate with team members and possibly external contacts; represent the team on projects
  • Contribute to process improvements and reduce downtime and costs
  • Resolve problems from basic to moderately complex, exercising judgment
  • Train maintenance technicians

Physical Demands: Regular talking, hearing, manual manipulation; standing and walking; occasional stooping, bending, reaching; lifting up to 50 pounds; computer work; occasional travel.
