Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for the role of maintenance electrician.
• Maintenance electricians should have strong problem solving skills and be able to work independently.
• Basic computer skills may also be required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a federal background screening and drug test
• Licenses: If required in the state of Arizona please provide a copy of completed licenses

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair
• Test electrical systems and components using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure proper functioning
• Isolate defective circuits and replace fuses or reset circuit breakers
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits according to specifications using hand tools or power tools
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools or power tools
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Plan layout of projects
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects
