Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician inspects, repairs, coordinates, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical systems and electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous proper operation at the AAC facility during varying shift times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This FULL TIME direct hire position is ideal for someone looking to move indoors, escape the Texas heat, or gain experience toward their master electrician license. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k), and more.
Essential Functions:
- Performs and documents preventive maintenance on all electrical, control, and vertical transportation systems to ensure optimal working conditions and compliance with applicable codes;
- Maintains all electrical circuitry and equipment in excellent condition, including stationary and moving equipment involved in a large multi-use facility;
- Assists other trade personnel with repairs in the arena;
- Operates facility equipment and heavy machinery as required;
- Provides emergency repairs during events to ensure their success;
- Coordinates and supervises contractors and vendors performing electrical or electronic work;
- Uses the CMSS system for interpreting, prioritizing, and completing work orders;
- Programs and troubleshoots PLC-based control systems;
- Maintains knowledge of security (CCTV) and fire systems;
- Works on all voltage systems, including 120/208, 277/480, and 5KV;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications:
- College degree in electrical technology or a high school diploma/GED or completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship;
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred;
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial journeyman experience;
- Working knowledge of PLC systems;
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC;
- Advanced education in electrical, mechanical, and control systems maintenance and operation;
- Current Texas Journeyman Electrical License;
- Knowledge of electrical safety protocols.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Ability to reach, handle, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, and sit;
- Lift/move up to 50 pounds, work at heights, including catwalks, and climb stairs/ladders;
- Work in small, confined spaces;
- Visual requirements include near, far, peripheral, and depth perception;
- Work at heights, in extreme conditions, and exposed to wet, humid, and potentially hazardous environments;
- Flexible to work all hours/shifts in a 24/7 facility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Respond to calls during and outside normal hours, with a company-provided phone and plan;
- Work may involve exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
