Job summary

Valmont in Newberry, SC is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems across the manufacturing facility. This role supports production operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment runs safely and effectively.

The position involves working with welders, AC/DC motors, CNC equipment, generators, transformers, and other plant equipment; requires basic PLC logic knowledge and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, drawings, manuals, and electrical codes.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, motors, wiring, and industrial electrical equipment.
• Basic knowledge of PLC logic used in troubleshooting CNC and automated manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair production machinery and electrical systems.
• Support the preventative maintenance program with inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Install and service electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, and motors.
• Diagnose electrical problems using schematics, blueprints, manuals, and testing devices.
• Document repairs and maintenance activities in maintenance systems.
