Job description

Maintains electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Includes the following although other duties may be assigned -

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electricalcontrol systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant lighting 480V, 207V and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC based controls and relay logic circuits.
  • Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
  • Trains and oversees electrical projects as directed by supervisory personnel.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of Company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic DWG.
Experience & Education
  • Five to seven years related experience and/or training equivalent to a journeyman rating in a manufacturing environment.
  • State-approved electrical apprenticeship program (California DIR recognized)OR Associate degree / technical certificate in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or similar subject
  • California Certified Electrician (Must be current and in good standing)

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.00 to $40.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
