Job summary

The Building People is seeking a skilled Electrician to install, maintain, and repair plant wiring and electrical/electronic systems. Responsibilities cover lights, motors, controls, radios, meters, and environmental control systems, with the potential to service mobile industrial equipment.

Candidates must have US citizenship with the ability to obtain a US DOT security clearance, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Citizenship and ability to obtain US DOT security clearance.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Journeyman Electrician with at least five years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, alters, repairs, adjusts and tests plant wiring and electrical/electronic equipment including lights, motors, controls, radios, meters, clocks, attendance recording systems, environmental controls and utilities.
• May perform electrical repairs on mobile industrial equipment.
• Charge and repair batteries and battery charging equipment.
• Lubricate equipment and adjust electrical instruments with sensing units.
• Use all tools and equipment and move materials, excluding mobile cranes.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites as needed.
• Perform related tasks within the Electrician job classification.
• Work from prints, sketches, specs, and instructions; complete paperwork as required.

SummaryInstalls, maintains, alters, repairs, adjusts and tests plant wiring, electrical and electronic equipment which shall include but not be limited to lights, electric motors, machines, equipment controls, radios and communication systems, meters, clocks, attendance recording mechanisms, environmental control systems and utilities. This, however, does not prohibit other employees from changing general illumination lamps and bulbs where no assembly or disassembly of equipment is required. Our pay range for this position is $40-45/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, alters, repairs, adjusts and tests plant wiring, electrical and electronic equipment which shall include but not be limited to lights, electric motors, machines, equipment controls, radios and communication systems, meters, clocks, attendance recording mechanisms, environmental control systems and utilities. This, however, does not prohibit other employees from changing general illumination lamps and bulbs where no assembly or disassembly of equipment is required.
• May perform electrical repair, modification and maintenance of mobile industrial equipment as required.
• Charges and repairs batteries and battery charging equipment.
• May lubricate equipment during performance of assigned duties. May adjust electrical instruments with thermal or capillary sensing units pursuant to the task.
• Uses all tools and equipment pursuant to the task, including hand or power equipment to hoist and move personnel and materials, except mobile cranes.
• May transport tools, materials and equipment to and from job site which are to be used by employees in the Electrician job classification.
• Performs related tasks as necessary in the completion of the employees primary work assignment in the Electrician job classification.
• Works from prints, sketches, specifications, and written or oral instructions and does paperwork pursuant to the task.

Required Experience & Skills

• US Citizenship, able to obtain and maintain US DOT security clearance
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work any shift
• Valid Driver's License
• Journeyman Electrician
• Five (5) years of electrician experience

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Industrial electrician
• Qualified in low voltage to high voltage
• Troubleshooting and install capabilities
• Industrial controller troubleshooting and experience
