Job summary

Vylor, Inc. is seeking an on-site Electrical Technician at our Corteva location in St. Joseph, Illinois. You will operate and repair electrical, mechanical, and control systems for production, ensuring safety, quality, and uptime while following prescribed procedures.

Must have Journeyman Electrician experience and NEC knowledge; a Master Licensed Electrician is a plus. Expect to work overtime during seasonal peaks and to drive a company vehicle when required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician experience required.
• Ability to interpret NEC and apply safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and learn company apps.
• Willing to climb, lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors/indoors in varying conditions.
• Capable of independent work and teamwork with strong communication.
• Maintain detailed equipment records and prints as required.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures; willing to work overtime during peaks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and control equipment for process and facility.
• Perform electrical repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections per guidelines.
• Support safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, PSM, and related procedures.
• Recommend improvements to electrical programs and hardware to boost safety and uptime.
• Maintain equipment records and documentation; work within quality and safety systems.
• Assist program leaders and teams as needed; support production demands during peak periods.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, for process and facility
• Perform electrical repairs, service, troubleshooting and scheduled inspections of equipment, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures
• Review and assist program leaders and teams with the electrical safety program to ensure adherence and compliance
• Adhere to all quality systems & safety procedures including environmental regulations, OSHA, PSM, and Corteva’s safety procedures in everyday work routine
• Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including the addition of new devices, and hardware
• Various other duties as assigned

What Skills You Need:

• Journeyman Electrical experience
• You possess working knowledge and are willing and able to interpret the National Electric Code (NEC)
• You have a valid driver’s license and are willing and able to drive a company vehicle as needed
• You are comfortable with technology and possess good a computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required
• You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand, and sit for extended periods, Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
• You can work independently as well as in a team environment
• You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• You have high attention to detail can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent problem-solving skills
• You are willing and able to maintain detailed equipment records and prints as required

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Master Licensed Electrician
• Experience with a work order and part inventory system
• Knowledge and/or experience with Automation and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
• Previous industrial maintenance work production equipment - electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, Motors and Gearmotors, instrumentation and controls, HVAC, and general maintenance experience).
• Experience with an SAP (or similar system) for work orders and parts inventory

The salary range for this position is $74,457.00 to $92,660.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.

Corteva announced to separate our current advanced seed and genetics business to establish a standalone company, operating as Vylor, Inc.
