Job summary

Bison Metals in Oklahoma is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to service and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment across the facility.

You will read blueprints and schematics, perform pipefitting and light construction, conduct preventive maintenance, and overhaul drives, motors, and conveyor systems. This role requires hands-on machine shop work, electrical repairs with 3-phase power, and willingness to rotating on-call weekends to address emergencies.

Qualifications

• Be able to read blueprints and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Be able to pipefit and layout work along with light construction and welding.
• Experience with basic machine shop tasks such as grinding, drilling, fabrication, welding.
• Ability to install or modify equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment in facility.
• Inspect, repair and perform overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control centers and conveyor systems.
• Perform basic machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding and machining.
• Conduct basic installation, maintenance, and modification on equipment and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair of motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters.
• Available for rotating on call duty during weekends to address emergencies.
• Conduct electrical repairs using 3phase electricity.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Installation of new or modified equipment.
• Trouble-shoot all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain plant facilities as to safety requirements.
• Perform mechanical preventive maintenance of all equipment as assigned.
• Maintain parts supply for use in equipment.
• Assist other trades in repairing, installing and trouble-shooting plant equipment.
• Be able to do needed construction and pipe-fitting-welding.
• Keep assigned machinery and work area neat, clean and orderly. Follow safety and shop rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Working conditions: Machinery pits, high conveyor work. Intense heat in casting area.
