Job summary

Penn Aluminum International LLC in Murphysboro, IL, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks an experienced maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, read prints and PLC ladder logic, and work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a union facility.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, use of basic hand and power tools, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and symbols.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and ladder logic.
• Ability to read prints and perform preventive maintenance.
• Union environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
• Perform monthly preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic symbols and prints; read PLC ladder logic.
• Rebuild pumps and cylinders from supplied prints; conduct general housekeeping.

• Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
• Conducts complex maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment.
• Maintains repair and maintenance records.
• Troubleshoots problems and resolves complex and high priority issues.
• Typically has more than 5 years of experience and works under general direction.
• Use basic hand and power tools safely (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, saws, pneumatic tools)
• Perform general plantwide housekeeping duties including cleaning the floors.
• Rebuild pumps/cylinders from supplied prints.
• Perform Monthly Preventative Maintenance on production/facility equipment.
• Use welding/cutting equipment (stick and/or mig, oxy-acetylene, Plasma cutter, grinders, etc.)
• Bend conduit and run basic electrical circuits according to prints provided.
• Use pipe threading equipment.
• Troubleshoot/repair mechanical power train components. (conveyors, bearings, gears, gearboxes, and shafts)
• Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic symbols and prints.
• Read PLC ladder logic symbols and instructions.

Experience with Allen Bradley Micrologix, SLC 500, and RSLOGIX 500 is highly desired.

This is a union facility.

Pay ranges from $31.42-$40.00/hr depending on maintenance grade classification.

We have immediate opportunities for Afternoon and Midnight Shift for currently enrolled students seeking full time work.

Pay Range: 36.00 - 44.00
