Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced, licensed journeyman electrician in the State of Minnesota to join our expanding industrial electrical team. The journeyman electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, wiring, and installing electrical components and fixtures for complex industrial machines at our Minnetonka manufacturing facility in accordance with relevant safety codes and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical assets and complex industrial machines within the plant (including machines, light fixtures, and phone lines) using hand and power tools.
  • Read wiring diagrams to wire or rewire electrical components (including PLCs, breakers, and switches) to machines and parts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical assets within the plant at scheduled times by rewiring, replacing parts, testing for proper function, and coordinating with operators.
  • Program components including PLCs, ladder logic, and control circuits to change or update machine functionality.
  • Wire, install electrical components, program, and test new machines using hand and power tools.
  • Upgrade existing machines by installing electrical components, programming, and testing functionality.
  • Climb, crawl, and maneuver into awkward or difficult-to-reach areas to wire parts, replace parts, or perform preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Organize and clean the work area by removing trash, sweeping, and returning tools and equipment to proper locations.
  • Prepare electrical maintenance reports and document in a proprietary computer software system.
  • Operate machinery including booms, scissor lifts, and forklift trucks.
  • Design blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for new equipment or upgrades.
  • Communicate with team members and other departments to provide recommendations, maintain work continuity, and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Bend, pull, and install conduit and associated wiring throughout the manufacturing plant.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of EHS life-critical systems and lockout/tagout safety.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and usage.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts including pneumatics, hydraulics, and brakes.
  • Knowledge of PLC, ladder logic, control circuits, motors, and process instrumentation function, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or wiring diagrams to assemble electrical equipment and repair components.
  • Ability to interpret measurements from calipers, rulers, and other measuring instruments.
Compensation

The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. It is not absolute, but a guide; offers are based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and internal equity. The stated range is $32-$36/hour USD and may be higher or lower based on the preceding factors.

This shift can be Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Monday, with working hours from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There is a .75 shift differential and a $1 per hour addition for working both weekend days.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.

Required

  • Licensed electrician in the State of Minnesota.
