Job SummaryAs a Maintenance Electrician, you will provide your knowledge and experience to drive workplace changes, utilize your analytical troubleshooting skills to minimize machine downtime, and deliver detail-oriented results within a manufacturing environment. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and perseverance to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and is expected to anticipate problems and take decisive, proactive measures to avoid or minimize adverse impacts on the facilities or equipment.Essential Job Duties/Functions (Not all inclusive)Design, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex industrial electrical equipment on systems within a wire and cable manufacturing environment.Diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems on a wide variety of rotating machinery to include, but not limited to, sanding, cabling, armoring, and extruding equipment.Install, troubleshoot, and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs) and direct current drives (DCs) drives.Perform diagnostic work up to the programmable logic controller (PLC) level.Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations on wire and cable manufacturing equipment.Perform all work in a safe manner according to all OSHA, National Fire Protection Association’s Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70e), plus Company regulations.Perform routine start-up and testing of emergency generators.Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions.Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment up to 600 volts.Troubleshoot, repair and/or install main and branch circuit breakers, disconnects and wiring devices such as switches, convenience and/or dedicated receptacles, possibly without the aid of a blueprint or schematic.Create work orders, requisitioning of parts and documentation.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredWork Experience10+ years prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance ElectricianPrevious work experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment, preferably within wire and cable sectorSuccessful completion of an approved electrical apprentice program and/or a U.S. Armed Forces equivalent military occupational specialty (MOS).Required & Preferred Skills and CompetenciesExperience using laptop to interface with Siemens and Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC).Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Siemens Step 7 and RSLogix.Must be able to operate various industrial power equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating/telescoping boom lifts.Current or expired Electrical licensure is desired but not mandatory.Subject to 24-hour on-call status and work emergency overtime when required.Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screenMust be willing to submit to a background checkMust wear & use protective safety equipment as requiredWork EnvironmentThe work environment and physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
