Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Rockport, IN is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to perform routine electrical inspections and planned maintenance to keep equipment operational.

You will assess equipment conditions, repair faulty components, read drawings, and use a CMMS to request services. The role involves collaborating with the maintenance team and supervisors to diagnose issues safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Associate degree and/or equivalent from two-year college.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills – verbal and written.
• Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical inspections and planned maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Assess the equipment operating condition and carry out appropriate repairs.
• Utilize knowledge and training to detect electrical equipment malfunction
• Inform and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose electrical problem or repair machine
• Utilize a CMMS system to prepare requests for maintenance services (RMS) providing detailed information to expedite repairs
• Utilize electrical drawings or standards to inspect parts to ensure they conform to purchase orders
• Dismantle defective machines and electrical equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Attend outage, safety and staff meetings
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance Mechanical Techs, Engineers, and Maintenance Planner
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• An electrical journeyman’s card and/or a minimum of an associate degree in an electrical industrial related field
